Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Pen to Paperwhere we tell you about a book that is currently on our wishlist that we are excited for!

This week on Phil's Wishlist:
The Colossus Rises (Seven Wonders #1) by Peter Lerangis

One Boy

Jack McKinley is an ordinary kid with an extraordinary problem. In a few months, he’s going to die.

One Mission

Jack needs to find seven magic loculi that, when combined, have the power to cure him.

One Problem

The loculi are the relics of a lost civilization and haven’t been seen in thousands of years.

Seven Wonders

Because they’re hidden in the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

While this synopsis is extremely vague and doesn't really tell us that much information about the book, except that it is about a boy who needs to find one of the lost Seven Wonders, I still REALLY want this book. Ever since I was little the Seven Wonders of the Ancient, and Modern, world have really intrigued me. I love the idea of seven monuments, places, and buildings, that are so awe inspiring that they get the title of wondrous. So, for me to hear that there is a new series out about the seven ancient wonders, I knew I needed to have it!!! Just from the idea, the description, and having read Peter Lerangis' work before, I have a strong feeling that this series is going to be a big deal, maybe even Percy Jackson big, well at least I hope! I will need to get this book ASAP, because I know Peter Lerangis is going to be at BEA to promote this series, and I am definitely going to want to meet him!

  7. Sounds like a really interesting topic to read a book about! The synopsis didn't really knock me over, to be quite honest, but if I ever feel like trying something new, I might turn to this :) Thanks for sharing!
