Wishlist Wednesday #17

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Pen to Paperwhere we tell you about a book that is currently on our wishlist that we are excited for!

This week on Phil's Wishlist:

In a futuristic world nearly destroyed by religious extremists, Justin March lives in exile after failing in his job as an investigator of religious groups and supernatural claims. But Justin is given a second chance when Mae Koskinen comes to bring him back to the Republic of United North America (RUNA). Raised in an aristocratic caste, Mae is now a member of the military’s most elite and terrifying tier, a soldier with enhanced reflexes and skills.

When Justin and Mae are assigned to work together to solve a string of ritualistic murders, they soon realize that their discoveries have exposed them to terrible danger. As their investigation races forward, unknown enemies and powers greater than they can imagine are gathering in the shadows, ready to reclaim the world in which humans are merely game pieces on their board.

Gameboard of the Gods, the first installment of Richelle Mead’s Age of Xseries, will have all the elements that have made her YA Vampire Academyand Bloodlines series such megasuccesses: sexy, irresistible characters; romantic and mythological intrigue; and relentless action and suspense

Gameboard of the Gods is definitely on the top of my wish list right now. I've read the first two books in Meads Vampire Academy series, and enjoyed them enough, but over time just initially lost interest. But, when I saw that Mead was coming out with a new dystopian adult novel, I knew I had to give it a peek. From reading the synopsis this book sounds intense! I guess I am actually kind of cheating this WW too because I ordered Gameboard of the Gods earlier this week and it should arrive sometime within the next few days, I just NEED it that bad. So excited for this book!

  5. I have read a couple of her Meads books and they were not so much my thing. This looks like it is much different than the ones that I have seen from her though, so I will have to keep an eye out for what you think of it. Hope you enjoy it.
