Wishlist Wednesday #10

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Pen to Paper where we tell you about a book that is currently on our wishlist that we are excited for!

This week on Phil's Wishlist:

Beautiful Creatures: The Graphic Novel (Illustrated by Cassandra Jean) :

There were no surprises in Gatlin County.
We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere.
At least, that's what I thought.
Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong.
There was a curse.
There was a girl.
And in the end, there was a grave.

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

So I have read all of the beast that is Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, which is obviously what this graphic novel adaptation is based on. I really liked Beautiful Creatures, and while I still haven't been able to get through the second book, Beautiful Darkness, I would reccomend Beautiful Creatures to anyone. So, once I found out that there was going to be a graphic novel adaptation, and then when I saw this STUNNING cover, I knew I needed to have it. I seldom read graphic novels, and NEVER buy them, but this is definitely a game changer. I mean just look at this cover...seriously *__*. I need to get this ASAP! And I am sure the art is amazing in it as well!

  4. Great pick! I have read the whole series (and by the way, I think book two is definitely the weakest, the others are awesome!) and I am a big fan! Love Lena and Ethan and their story. I've actually never owned a graphic novel, but I can imagine picking this one up...thanks so much for sharing!

  6. That is a nice cover! I didn't care for the books (read the first one only), but I could see it making a good graphic novel. Enjoy!
