Synopsis (Goodreads.com): Imagine Garth Hale's surprise when he's accidentally zapped to the spirit world by Frank Gallows, a washed-out ghost wrangler. Suddenly Garth finds he has powers the ghosts don't have, and he's stuck in a world run by the evil ruler of Ghostopolis, who would use Garth's newfound abilities to rule the ghostly kingdom. When Garth meets Cecil, his grandfather's ghost, the two search for a way to get Garth back home, and nearly lose hope until Frank Gallows shows up to fix his mistake.

My Thoughts (Spoiler-Free):

I've been on a graphic novel kick lately but we all know that graphic novels are pretty expensive so I decided to go to the library to check some out. While I was at my local library, I came across this graphic novel on one of the shelves. The cover immediately caught my attention, it's amazing in person! Then, like any other person that has the Goodreads app on their phone, I went ahead and scanned it to see what it was all about. After I was done reading the synopsis, I was sold!

First of all, the story line was a unique one, I've never come across anything remotely close to this graphic novel. I mean come on...a boy getting accidentally zapped to the spirit world by a ghost wrangler?! It was such an interesting concept that I couldn't bring myself to put it down! All the characters were nicely developed especially the different beings in the different kingdoms in the ghost world. When I say this, I mean that there weren't just humans and ghosts in this, there were skeletons, mummies, pharaohs, goblins, zombies, and more!

The illustrations were to die for, honestly! The second I got to the last page of this graphic novel, I went back to the beginning and just flipped through it again just to relive the beautiful illustrations again. I actually just picked it up for a third time not too long ago today and had to look at some of my favorite illustrations in it all over again!

I loved that the story didn't just focus on Garth's problems but the problems of other characters too such as the ghost wrangler, Frank Gallow's dilemma with his ex-girlfriend...a ghost! And again, I loved (did I say loved already?) the illustrations! They went along perfectly with the storyline in every way! So with that said, I leave you with a sneak peak into Ghostopolis:

I don't usually buy graphic novels, but I'm so close to buying this one because I love the illustrations so much...I just have to own it! You'll just have to check it out for yourself to see just how awesome this was!
