Wishlist Wednesday #5

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Pen to Paper where we tell you about a book that is currently on our wishlist that we are excited for!

This week on Geraldine's Wishlist:

The Program by Suzanne Young:

In Sloane’s world, true feelings are forbidden, teen suicide is an epidemic, and the only solution is The Program.

Sloane knows better than to cry in front of anyone. With suicide now an international epidemic, one outburst could land her in The Program, the only proven course of treatment. Sloane’s parents have already lost one child; Sloane knows they’ll do anything to keep her alive. She also knows that everyone who’s been through The Program returns as a blank slate. Because their depression is gone—but so are their memories.

Under constant surveillance at home and at school, Sloane puts on a brave face and keeps her feelings buried as deep as she can. The only person Sloane can be herself with is James. He’s promised to keep them both safe and out of treatment, and Sloane knows their love is strong enough to withstand anything. But despite the promises they made to each other, it’s getting harder to hide the truth. They are both growing weaker. Depression is setting in. And The Program is coming for them (Goodreads.com).

The Program is definitely towards the top of my anticipated books of 2013! After reading the summary, you can't say you don't feel just a little excited for it's release! And, can we just take a look at this cover for a minute? I love the simplicity of it and the yellow goes with it perfectly. The storyline sounds really interesting and seems like it's going to be completely different from what's out on shelves right now (considering suicide is an international epidemic...um WHAAAT). The one thing I hope this book doesn't have is a sequel because let's be serious...where are all the stand alone books nowadays?! This book is set to release April 30, 2013 and I could not be any more excited for it!
