Review by Phil

This book was sent to me from the publisher for review and did not sway my opinion any way.

Synopsis (Goodreads.com): This second novel in the Tales from Lovecraft Middle School series begins right where Professor Gargoyle ended. Seventh-grader Robert Arthur has discovered that two of his classmates are actually sinister snake-women in disguise. Even worse, his new middle school is full of “gates” to a terrifying alternate dimension – a haunted mansion full of strange spirits and monstrous beasts. For Robert to protect his teachers and classmates, he'll need to return to this haunted dimension with his best friends Glenn and Karina. Can they uncover the secrets of Lovecraft Middle School before it's too late?
The Slither Sisters features more bizarre beasts, more strange mysteries, and more adventure. It's perfect for readers ages 10 and up. Best of all, the cover features a state-of-the-art “morphing” photo portrait – so you can personally witness the sisters transforming into their slithering alter egos. You won't believe your eyes!

My Thoughts (Spoiler-Free):

The Slither Sisters picks up right where Professor Gargoyle left off. Robert and his friends, Glen and Karina, have just escaped the evil hands of Professor Gargoyle, but now they must face the terrifying Sarah and Sylvia Price. Sarah and Sylvia used to be two normal pre-teens, but their bodies have been taking over by menacing half girl/ half snake creatures, due to the alternate dimension filled with demons, that lurks within Lovecraft Middle School.

The Price sisters now are running for head of student council, because once they control the student body, they will control the entire school. Now Robert must join the race for presidency also, a near-impossible task to win, and he has no idea how he will do it.

The Slither Sisters was full of magic and mystery around every corner, and with a shocker of an ending, I now NEED the next book “Teachers Pest”.

My favorite thing about these books is the mixture of humor and innocence within Robert, mixed with an intense plot line driven by character development and horror. At times The Slither Sisters had me laughing, and at other times it had me terrified, giving me anxiety about how Robert will get himself out of a sticky situation.

Because this is a sequel I do not want to give too much away, but if I could choose one word to describe these books it would be “fun”! Any reader of any age could enjoy these books, and I would recommend them to any fans of RL Stine’s Goosebumps series!

The Slither Sisters was a fantastic read, and I gave it 4/5 stars!
